Perhaps in light of this and other problems (e.g. the network failures over the weekend), you might want to think about recruiting another, geographically distant school to be involved in this system. Distrubuted computing works well for the calculation side, and at least some amount of redundancy would help on the server side, too, though it might seem a heavy investment of effort considering the gained uptime.


Some work servers are far away from the Stanford already (I recall two USA universities with their own WU servers), but there is no "outsourced" collection server nor assignment server.

I am running Vista Home Premium (64 bit) on a 4 Gig Machine. Folding at Home works to complete simulations but the DISPLAY function fails on this machine. I have a 32 bit version of the same operating system on another machine and the display works ok.

This is not a serious issue but simply a bother as get the messages
