Just wanted to thank the folks at both Stanford and Sony for doing the hard work of actually fixing this problem... I too have been frustrated by the serious degradation on uploads and downloads over the last few weeks- but it does seem to be getting better, and that's a good thing (for all of us).

What's interesting to me is that I've been running the 1.3 client for as long as it's been out, but I only started to see the problem in the last few weeks. And I agree that no one (not Sony, probably not anybody) can simulate 30,000+ systems to bring these elusive bugs to light. As long as I eventually get credit for the work my box is doing (and it works on average 17+ hrs/day on these jobs), I'm good with it.

Anyway, thanks again for all of your effort... this is certainly a worthy cause, and I'm glad to be part of it.

For what it's worth, I've developed software bugs that have taken years for the right conditions to occur for them to come out and bite me in the butt. I'm just glad it was Sony and not me. :-)

Listen up sports fans, what an amazing thing we're being given, realistically the opportunity to invest and devote our technology and willingness to help all of mankind in such a profound way. There's no doubt that these minor (okay major) difficulties to utilize said super machine is a pain. I really believe though we're giving the next generations of "massively (worldwide) paralleled processes, the greatest chance to breath." There seems to be some smart folk about having their first chance to sort out how we're bound to evolve medically as a planet, give them a couple of minutes to "dial it up." -That is All, thus endeth Sermon

One problem I have experienced since the upgrade to the 1.3 folding is while browsing team or users stats the machine will freeze and restarting the machine resets your currant work unit and a new one is downloaded.I expected the progress to be saved at intervals so it would just re-start at the last save point. The Server tweaks seem to of done the trick am now able to upload and download work units good going there. Here's looking forward to folding at home Version 1.4.
