We've been working constantly the last few days to improve the PS3 situation. Based on our statistics, the situation has gotten better. A few days ago (at its worst), it was very bad (~80% failure, which means 5-6 retries on average or more to get WU's back). We're seeing more like 20-35% (1-3 retries) right now and the trend is getting better and better. We have added some additional PS3 servers, and done some major code changes. A new client should fix this issue introduced in 1.3 so this doesn't happen again. For now, our server-side changes should take care of this in time, although it may take a few more days to settle down to say 1% failures (more typical). We have also extended deadlines to compensate for this problem.

Was the issue the same as the one that people talked about causing problems with having the music turned on or a totally different bug?

I think it's something completely different, I could be wrong though. I have music disabled and I had lost several WU's over the last couple days. Seems to be working fine now.

something is really wrong with the PS3 server side. For the past two days W/U's have uploaded to both PS3(60g and 80g), both running latest updates and yet zero compleated W/Us are being recorded on my stats page. My other P-4's and G-5 are folding and uploading compleated W/U's which are showing up on my stats page. Will this problem be resolved in the next 24 hours??? Are the W/U's lost??? My PS3's are still folding but zero points are showing up???

I don't understanding. The PS3 client running is 1.3. Does the Pande Group expect to change actual version "on the fly" ?
Or a 1.4 version is coming ?
Regarda.

The system is still not working correctly - I have completed multiple WU's over the last two days, but they are not being uploaded to the F@H servers and I am not beign credited. It tries to upload every time I start folding, but it never actually sends anything. HELP!!!!! I am going to stop folding until this is resolved.

Same problem here... I'm trying to upload a huge WU right now, and it says server failed. This is really annoying. Get your act together F@H!

Um, I think someone is blowing steam up our arses over this situation. If you look at default/PS3 Daily Production History on EoC you can plainly see the PS3 is still in a deep deep decline in turning in WU's.

As of about an hour ago when Friday was complete on EoC, the PS3 on every team that is PS3 dependent is still showing a major drop in production.
Personally, I've had a PS3 folding 24/7 during all of this and for Tuesday and Wednesday I had 2 PS3 WU's count. the 2nd was only from restarting the folding process and it uploaded a completed WU while one was in progress. Since then I have had zero WU's count. I suspect at least 8 to 9 WU's have just vanished.
What is really being done to resolve this issue???

I've been unable to upload all week. I tried deleting F@H then re-downloading it and everything seemed fine again. Once the subsequent WU was complete the same problem recurred. I repeated the process to no avail. There's no point in folding until this issue is fully resolved.

problems still not resolved!!! It's clear that either Sony or Stanford has a huge problem on it's hands and to compound the problem is communicating zero to the folders. Just telling us that deadlines will be extended does little good when it appears that our compleated W/U's are being tossed out.

They did say it would take a couple days from February 1st for the backlog to calm down. Give it some time.

Good idea. That's what I'm going to do as well because it's the responsible thing to do.
There's no reason for so many resources to be needlessly wasted when there's such a widespread risk that the results are going to be lost.
Many, many people are reporting complete loss of WUs.

Not uploading is NOT the same as losing a work unit, and therefore NOT a waste either!!! Completed WUs can be cached (stored) by the client while it continues to download new work. The client will automatically try to upload all completed WUs are regular intervals.
Also, uploaded work may not be immediately credited because of this issue, and credit may be issued later after this gets sorted out.
JayTay, please stop saying the sky is falling when you really don't know if it is or not.

Nice post, I enjoy a lot playing games actually, especially the latest console tech like the PS3. IMHO, PS3 is way better than Wii or XBox 360.
